The CIA (Choreographers in Accord) invites you to help them celebrate local dance champion Jeff Bartlett.

Jeff Bartlett, beloved local lighting designer and Dance Community Liaison at the new Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, is in the intensive care unit of Hennepin County Medical Center after a fall at Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

Jeff was focusing lights up in a Genie lift Wednesday when the lift fell over.  As they say, ‘He’s not out of the woods yet.’  They all say he is very very lucky to be alive.

Join us to celebrate Jeff, a longtime supporter of artists in this community through his talents and love.   A reception will follow Friday’s performance, and the opportunity to give additional donations will be available in the lobby.

Singer/Songwriter Annie Fitzgerald combines the timeless sound of Ray Lamontagne, the tender lyrics akin to Shawn Colvin, the pure soul of Patty Griffin, and the honest grit of Damien Rice into a sound that’s all her own.

“Annie Fitzgerald” the EP, caught the ears of millions of listeners on iTunes and hundreds of radio stations nationwide upon its release in 2006. Her song “Ain’t that a Shame was chosen be on the 2007 Best of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Compilation CD, featuring the most talented of the 57th New Writers Showcase, and they deemed her an artist to watch.

Her debut release “In Good Time” was recorded with producer Matt Patrick at the Library Recording Studio in Minneapolis, MN. She resides in NYC, and plans to head out on a cross-country tour in support of the release this fall.

Winterland of 10,000 Bikes

Filmed during the 2009 and 2010 Minneapolis Stupor Bowl race. This film illustrates the Bike Messengers of winter and those who partake in the race ritual of the Stupor Bowl every year with the motivation and thoughts behind such an event.

The Goldstein Museum of Design is pleased to announce their fall fundraiser at the Ritz!

The four designers featured in the exhibition Mao to Now will be guests of honor at the Fall Fundraiser, which will include a choreographed production of fashion and dance by Ballet of the Dolls.

Thus was born the lovechild of the notorious 1962 film Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? and the tragic Tchaikovsky ballet Swan Lake. Starring Jane Black and Blanche White, Whatever Happened to…Swan Lake? features juicy villains and heaps of drama.
